the siomai lady…
i know that entrepreneurs have several trade secrets right under there sleeves that propel their ventures to such great heights. one of such business ventures could indeed be seen in the fast-growing street-siomai, almost everyhere you look, theres a siomai stand selling "low-priced edition" siomai…and behind this growing food industry, is a rather well-kept secret between siomai stand owners, they will never tell their costumers who their supplier is–as in all siomai vendors that i’ve asked–most likely so as to keep potential rivals off the business…
however, i was really annoyed this afternoon when i asked a certain siomai-vendor…you see, we are planning to have a little celebration at home for my lola’s birthday–although she’s not home, but is abroad–and we plan to have siomai in our menu…and so, when i visited this siomai stand, i asked the siomai lady as to where i could buy siomai in "bulk", i even explained to her that i just need the siomai for a party and that i have no intention of opening my own siomai stall if she feels rather threatened by competition…and what was her answer? a resonating "secret…." God! i wanted to slap her stupid face then and there…the least that she could do was offer me a clue as to where i could search for the siomai factory, instead she offered to sell to me siomai in bulk at 5.50 a piece sans the sauce and spices, of course, i didnt agree, knowing that the siomai factory would sell at a lower price plus free extra siomai and sauce…my only problem is that i dont know where the factory is…
now, if theres anyone in here who’s kind enough to give me a golden ticket to the siomai factory, i would indeed feel a great indebtedness towards that person, since my sister and i are both dying to eat siomai steamed right at home…so please,please, anyone out there, tell me where the siomai factory is, and we could bet on it, that if after you told me where to buy siomai and i’ll open a siomai stand, then i’d have to give you half of my sales for a whole year…but then again, i have no intention of opening one, i just want to eat a whole bunch siomai that i bought for less…
