my nurse’s prayer…

Bless me Oh Lord, for I am about to begin the days work…or should i say torture(?)…teach me to recieve the sick in Thy Name…but really Lord, sick people i could stand…unruly instructors are a different story…it is Thy work Sweet Jesus, without Thee, we can do nothing…exactly my point, why do we all go through the trouble of telling these people to take these meds and buy this and that when we dont even have time to tell them to ask the Lord to make them well, after all, it’s His job…(i forgot the rest of the prayer, but i’m sure it ends this way)…make us beautiful within for the sake of the sick ones and the lives that would be affected by them…yes Lord, considering the constant attacks on our self-esteem, i’m glad that at least You still think that were beautiful enough…

really, no offense to the VSMMC Staff or to whoever composed that prayer…but I HONESTLY DONT LIKE PRAYING IT!!!

but before you cast me to the fiery pits of hell, allow me to explain…

i dont like praying that prayer, because it simply does not feel like praying at all…the words dont mean anything to me, and i cant seem to find any meaning in it…no offense to whoever wrote, i know his/her intentions were good…but with all the monotony and the lack of feelings that student nurses and staff nurses mumble it day by day…it just doesnt make any sense to me…prayer is talking to God, and i honestly dont like talking to him in a way that i dont prefer in the first place…

dont get me wrong though, as a catholic, i’ve learned to love our structured prayers and formulas…

its just this nurses prayer that i cant seem to like…and i dont why…

well, theres no point with this whole entry anyway…just plain nonsense from a caffeine high…but at least you now know that i dont like the standard nurses prayer…just dont bother asking my why…
